THE MOTTEE STONE

Legend suggests that Fionn MacCumhaill (a legendary Irish hero) hurled the stone from the top of Lugnaquilla Mountain. Signposted on the Avoca / Rathdrum road to right beyond the Meeting of the Waters; up trackway to summit of hilltop.
