THE SKYLARK'S REST HOSTEL

The Skylark’s Rest is situated 500 metes from Roundwood village in an area of outstanding natural beauty that offers a range of activities such as hill-walking, mountain-biking, rock-climbing, canoeing, golf and angling. We’re just 2km from the very popular Wicklow Way and are perfectly located for a comfy overnight stay for those walking the Wicklow Way, especially the Knockree – Roundwood or the Roundwood – Glendalough sections.

We have information available on the range of local activities and attractions, including detailed route descriptions for many stunning hill-walks in the area. Bicycles are available for hire and we can provide information on various cycling routes in the area. Ballinastoe Mountain Bike Trail is also readily accessible from the hostel.

Guests can relax by the fire on cooler evenings, make use of the fully equipped, modern self-catering kitchen or sample some of the local fare available in the village. There is a range of options to suit all budgets including take-aways, a bistro, pub grub and restaurants. Live bands and traditional music sessions are available on various nights in the local pubs. Guests are also welcome to join in with the locals who meet every Thursday evening to enjoy some Irish set dancing.

We have a flexible occupancy policy to accommodate families and small groups. The Skylark’s Rest is an ideal accommodation option for small group outings or club events and full hostel rental is possible.
